THE NOCTURNAL CALL

The night, like an alarm,
awakes our minds
from the lethargy of courtesy,
pushes straight into
the arms of hidden desires.

The nocturnal call
opens our consciousness
to temptations that are
too spicy during the day,
darkness has this flavor.

The night lives in us,
flows with the blood,
as if we were blind
before the dusk,
murkiness is our ophthalmologist.

THAT’S WHAT THE NIGHT SAYS

The brakes are released
when I speak,
wolves in human skins
come out,
hoping for prey,
whatever it is,
I fly into their lungs
like the wind.

I whisper again
and the lights fade away,
lanterns don’t impress me;
demons are drawn
to such glare
with intentions
unworthy of hell,
no one sees them as devils
in the sunlight.

I take the embarrassment
and false shame
off their faces
as if each of them
was wearing a mask,
the number of sins grows
like radiation on a Geiger counter,
you can see my masterpiece on the streets,
that’s what I say, night.

TERROR OF THE SOUL

(Inspired by the works of Thomas Ligotti)

Barge of your death
took something more,
a heart taken from life
demolished the foundations
of mental stability.

Nights or days,
there is no difference at all,
in the lake of inner suffering
time is worth as much as sighing.

I’m dying every hour,
piece by piece,
the body looks normal,
the pain can’t be seen,
my consciousness falls apart
like a wooden bridge,
I don’t know what will happen when
the soul breaks the bond with the mind.

There is silence outside
and bombs of misery
that explode inside,
a malicious clock heralds
another hour of terror of the soul,
the cuckoo is like a knife,
I would like it get stuck
in this tired head,
a few more moves and I will drown
in the black river of madness.
