Riaan Marais, a multi-disciplined illustrator, was born in 1972 in the vibrant city of Windhoek, Namibia. From a young age, Riaan displayed a remarkable talent and passion for drawing, which would shape his creative journey for years to come.

Growing up in Windhoek, Riaan found solace and joy in putting pen to paper, immersing himself in the art of illustration. His obsession with drawing began as a childhood pastime but soon developed into a lifelong pursuit. With an unwavering dedication and an innate ability to capture the essence of his subjects, Riaan quickly gained recognition for his artistic flair.

In 1994, at the age of 22, Riaan embarked on an entrepreneurial journey, establishing his own illustration business. This bold move allowed him to fully immerse himself in his craft and further refine his skills. Throughout his illustrious career, Riaan has become known for his attention to detail, intricate line work, and ability to breathe life into his illustrations. His distinct style merges elements of realism and imagination, capturing the essence of his subjects with a unique and captivating touch.
