Frank Heiler is a self-taught visual artist specializing in oil painting, pen and ink, and mixed media works. His work explores inner worlds and dark emotions through a particular kind of intensely detailed expressionism. His work is often brutally honest about his own mental health struggles and trauma, but is shown through symbolism and surrealism, creating a unique fusion of realism and unreality. Originally raised in New Jersey, he spent many years there, before moving to Denver for several more years, and now works and resides in West Virginia. He has sold hundreds of works all over the world and has displayed in several American galleries.
