After studying comics in Brussels, Sylvain Daudier started working in the field of communication and advertising. He was an artistic director, designer, graphic designer or illustrator in an agency or freelance in France and Belgium. At the same time, he has always tried to keep his personal creative space to experiment and create while having fun.

His influences range from literature to cinema, and he is inspired by such greats as Lovecraft, Poe, Burns, Vernes, Lynch…What interests him above all is telling stories. Even in a single image, with a drawing or a photo, one can say a lot of things.

Sylvain visits a lot of exhibitions and uses those opportunities to take photos. He really likes observing buildings, their environment and the effect of time upon them. It’s a starting point for the imagination: who lives there? What stories happened there? This is why there are never characters in his photos, He prefers to imagine them, create stories for them and this also feeds his illustrations. Sometimes he even integrates drawn characters or decorative elements into photos.
