CAMPFIRES

Red coal eyes
stare from
wooden prisons,
hissing

like angry hollow
gods.

Trees loom low
and silent,
brown withered arms

reaching, not quite
touching.

Voices sing thru
the quiet air,

calling their kind
in songs of
lust while

shadows edge closer,
their minds filled
with a thousand

nameless

childhood nightmares.

STONEHENGE

Gray-skinned memories
wrought from Gaia’s
tight grasp

sing in primeval voices
across wind-seared plains,
calling in quiescent

supplication to ancient
gods wrapped in shimmering
lace, asleep in their

dreams of magic
forgotten to those who
only see
with blinded minds.

LIFE TIDES

Hopes sing in the dusk
ethereal voices
echoing

choirs
of shapeless
faces.

Rainbow illusions
mock from
their shadows

promises of love

duplicitous and empty
as a parched
hollow well.

Decisions dressed in
chimeric rags
waltz in harmony

through catacombs
of deceit

while absolute truths
flutter in tired
currents

untouchable as wind
in a torn
tattered net.

Tsunami’s of life
pound the souls
of creatures

too fragile
to care.
