Cameron Zavala is an oil painter form Norwalk, California. She received her BA from California State University in Los Angeles. She is pursuing an MFA in drawing and painting at California State in Long Beach. She has exhibited her work at Stay Gallery in Downey and at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex in East Los Angeles. Her work is influenced by philosophy and how we understand the world.

She has completed a series of paintings that are inspired by our desire to define the world. Philosophers have tried to define truth for centuries. Science has come close but both get confused. Both have not and will not reach absolute truth. Cameron paints narratives that symbolize a moment of contemplation; some scenes are active, while others are dormant. She places science next to biomorphic forms in isolated landscapes. The biomorphic forms are illogical and represent nothingness. Scientists, through their practice, represent our desire to define the world as a whole. With our ability to reason, we try to define these illogical metaphors but get no closer to an answer.
