J.A. López Picardo was born in Spain and has drawn from as long as he can remember. He won his first prize at six, in a six-to-twelve-year-old children's contest.
At that time, he didn't want to exhibit his black-and-white drawings in public because he considered his work too intimate.
Then, four years ago, he begain using colors and started to paint. Encouraged by his mother, he decided to exhibit his new work in public. From that date, he has exhibited at three galleries and cultural spaces in Spain and was chosen to join ASPAS (Spanish pastel painters),organization in which he is an active member, participating at international pastel exhibitions, the last one in Manacor, Islas Baleares, Spain.
Nowadays, he sells his paintings in Spain or via internet to the rest of the world, mainly through Saatchi Art Official site.
