Below are two separate emails as proof of plagiarism by Katrina LeBeau a.k.a. Katrina Smith. First of all, I extend my sincerest apologies for this terrible event. As you know, The Horror Zine's mission is to support and promote emerging authors, artists, and poets. It is escpecially difficult for me to determine who plagiazies, especially in the art part.

Please believe that the intention of The Horror Zine is always honest and legitimate. We took Ms. LaBeau's (aka Ms. Smith's) submission to be authentic to our knowledge. Knowing we were wrong in our assessment of her honestly, we have taken immediate steps to get the proper artists credit for Ms. LaBeau's stolen images.

The Horror Zine offers our sincerest apology to the real artists who have been victims of Katrina LeBeau aka Katrina Smith.

I'm awaiting confirmation on this one, but I believe this is a piece by Victoria Frances. It's being sold as such on multiple high profile websites. Amazon being one of them.

I could not find a match for every piece but it's probably a good bet that the others are also plagiarized. I have notified the artist to every piece that I could confirm and advised them to take legal action as this artist is currently selling several plagiarized pieces on print to order websites. You are far from the only site to have published this work under her name. I have contacted Katrina and she claims that these pieces, in most cases exact replicas, are 'fan art'. I have advised the artist to take their complaints up with her, and that I would notify all sites that had published her art under the impression that it was original material. Let me know if there is anything that I can do or any questions I can answer for you. Sorry to bring the bad news but so far, the artists are not faulting the publications in this, so that's good news. If you do hear from any artist, and they are upset with you, you are welcome to direct them to me. I have multiple instances of this happening and can show the artist that the fault lies fully with the plagiarizer.

On the right side of your gallery page at the bottom, the image of a woman using a bloody forearm like a violin. That is art for abook cover created by the Seattle artistSeb Barnett.

This one is called 'Rebirth' (not "life') by the artist Lawrence Yang

Do a quick search onGoogle Images and you'll see any of the other ones appear repeatedly all overthe internet, never actually attributed to the "artist" named KatrinaLeBeau. This 20 year old girl is a fraud and hasn't skill remotely good enough to create digital airbrushed wallpapers, steampunk manga illustrations, photomanipulations, oil paintings, and vector art.

Here, just a few search results reveal the girl probably saved pretty pictures from desktop wallpaper galleries and artist portfolios and is trying to pass them off as her own. NONE of the results aside from the Horror Zine attribute the art to her.

If I may suggest so,please print a retraction stating that the artwork claimed by Kat was stolenand remove it from your website. I have informed Seb and Lawrence and the other artists ofthe copyright infringement and an official DMCA takedown notice will likely followthis message.
