Tero Porthan was born in Tampere, Finland, in 1971, but has been living in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, for most of his adult life. He studied graphic design, and has been working in digital media as a graphic designer, 3D modeler, animator, illlustrator, and web designer. He’s been drawing and painting my whole life.

Tero has always been interested in mythology. Illustrating Finnish folklore is a project he started with his wife Tiina Porthan several years ago, with the aim of making this magical tradition known worldwide.
