Eliza van Veen is a sixteen-year-old artist who was born in and still lives in Ireland. She focuses on portraiture paintings with the odd exception here and there. Since a young age she was always considered good at art among her friends at school but it was at the age of ten when she began to really draw. She realized her passion at the age of thirteen. Over time, her love for portraiture was inspired by many different artists.

Eliza is almost completely self-taught with the exception of art as a subject in school. She considers each painting a learning experience. She was always taught in school to look at the image from which she was working when painting but she feels that she works best when she gets to create something completely new. Her favorite paints to work with are watercolors as they are fast and dry quickly but she uses acrylics and oils too.

Eliza is inspired by many things such as the human anatomy, crystals, geometric shapes, nature, taboos, poetry, musicians and so much more. Once she finishes school, she hopes to study fine art, and make art her profession. Most of all, she hopes to share her artwork.
